"Often, when I start
working with new clients, they’ll say, ‘Oh my, no
one else we’ve dealt with
in the insurance industry understands mortgage banking.’ They’re relieved
to find someone who understands their
business and knows
what coverage they need.”
Denise Hill, whose experience in insurance spans over 20 years, has been a member of MORTGAGE BANKING INSURANCE GROUP since its inception in 2004.
Hill has worked on both the carrier and brokerage side, gaining firsthand knowledge of the entire insurance spectrum. She began her career working for The Hartford and then Fireman’s Fund. At these companies, she worked on surety and commercial crime coverage–two required elements in any mortgage banker’s coverage.
Moving over to the brokerage side, Hill joined the surety and commercial crime department of Alexander & Alexander where she worked her way up from a marketing representative to bond manager. Her responsibilities included acquiring quotes and working with carriers to obtain effective coverage for the client as well as checking over and finalizing the policy.
Hill then became an account executive at Bankers Insurance Service where she was responsible for selling, underwriting and servicing the Mortgage Bankers Bond and other risk management solutions for mortgage lenders. Now an experienced writer of surety bonds, she reorganized the company’s procedures and underwriting guidelines for surety.
To improve her knowledge of mortgage banking, she completed several courses at the MBA’s School of Mortgage Banking.
Familiar with her talents from working with her at Bankers Insurance Service, Lee Brodsky asked Hill to join him as he established the MORTGAGE BANKING INSURANCE GROUP. Hill now uses her expertise to seek out policies from a number of insurance carriers and impartially summarize to clients the pros and cons of these different options.
